Rules &
Terms

Please read these conditions before making a submission to any New Renaissance Film Festival platform.

Submission conditions.

By submitting a film or screenplay, the applicant confirms that they have read, understood and accepted the following rules. These terms apply alongside any category-specific conditions displayed on the relevant submission platform.

Rule 01

Promotional excerpts

New Renaissance Film Festival is granted the right to use an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the festival for promotional purposes.

Rule 02

Authority to submit

The individual or corporation submitting the film warrants that it is authorised to commit the film for screening and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

Rule 03

Language

All entries must be in English or supplied with English subtitles.

Rule 04

Screenplay rights

All scripts must be original screenplays for which the applicant holds the copyright. Where a screenplay is based on another work, the screenwriter is responsible for obtaining written permission and all necessary copyright clearances from the original author or publisher.

Rule 05

Judging decisions

The judges reserve the right not to enter into correspondence following the announcement of a winner.

Rule 06

Cash-prize eligibility

To qualify for a cash prize, the winner must satisfy all terms of their category and attend the festival in person to receive the award.

Rule 07

Awarding prizes

The judges reserve the right not to award a cash prize where there is no clear winner in a category, where the winner is not in attendance, or where a sponsor cannot honour its financial pledge. The applicant shall hold New Renaissance Film Festival harmless from claims, liabilities, losses, damages or expenses arising in such circumstances.

Rule 08

Trophies and certificates

If an award winner is not in attendance, the festival will not ship trophies or certificates after the event.

Rule 09

Rights and indemnity

The applicant shall indemnify and hold New Renaissance Film Festival harmless from claims, liabilities, losses, damages and expenses—including reasonable legal fees and court costs—arising from claims involving copyright, trademark, advertised cash prizes, credits, publicity, screening, or loss of or damage to submitted screening files.

Rule 10

Changes to presentation

Where circumstances require, the festival may replace a live screening with an On Demand presentation. The festival will take reasonable steps to avoid this but cannot be held responsible for technical difficulties occurring during or as a result of an On Demand presentation.

Important notice

Submission fees are non-refundable. Deadlines, programmes, venues and dates may change. Festival correspondence with filmmakers will be conducted by email at nrfflondon@gmail.com.
