When young Ruby’s father returns unexpectedly from war, his volatile state makes it difficult for the family to reconnect. Ruby’s anxieties are projected onto a pair of ravens, vigilantly defending their nearby nest, and become a catalyst for the troubled family’s journey from crisis to healing.

Jennifer Perrott is an AWGIE nominated writer and award-winning director of short films, TV drama, and commercials. She studied directing at the Australian Film Television & Radio School. Prior to that, she completed a BA in Communications majoring in film at the University of Technology, Sydney. From 2003 – 2008 Jennifer based her career mostly in the UK where she directed TV drama for BBC 1, ITV, Channel 4 and also television commercials in the Benelux. 

Jennifer has written and directed two award-winning short films – BREATHE and A MATTER OF LIFE (an award-winning Tropfest film), and FLIGHT – a UK Film Council-funded short. All have been received with acclaim at international festivals. ‘The Ravens’ won the Best International Actress Award (Sarah Snook) at NRFF London 2017. (Read an interview with NRFF).

In 2003 she took part in the Berlinale Young Talent Campus and won the Best Young Director award at the Broadcastnow/BBC B+ Young Talent Awards. She has directed prime time drama’s for BBC1/Kay Mellor, ITV/Kudos Productions and the pilot episode of a new Channel 4 comedy drama, STACKED, and will soon be directing Dr. Who for BBC1. In Australia, she has directed episodes of OFFSPRING in series 4.
