“Not Immune” follows a man who knows that he should not get back with his boyfriend, but cannot help himself when the boyfriend charms his way back into the main character’s life. Back together, their relationship is passionate and chaotic as always, as represented by the beautiful original choreography. But the relationship is as toxic as it is enthralling, and in the end, our main character is left alone once again…
Q&A with director Ian Asbjørnsen after this block.
Andrew Abaria is a Filipino-American songwriter, composer, and singer. He is a USC Thornton School of Music graduate and has performed all over marquee venues in Los Angeles including the Shrine Theatre, El Rey, and Ford Amphitheater. His music has garnered hundreds of thousands of online views, and his works have been commissioned and performed all over the world, from South Africa to Hungary to the Philippines.
Ian Asbjørnsen is a 2nd generation filmmaker born and raised in Los Angeles. He has directed and shot music videos that have premiered nationally on NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly, MTV, and the online sites Spin Mag, Pitchfork, Noisy, XXL Magazine, Brainfeeder Records, Glamour Mag UK, and Topshop. His web commercial Gelateria Uli won the 2016 AT&T Real Stories contest.
His short film Love Song, won Best Student Film, at the 2013 Los Angeles International Underground Film Festival. He was the recipient of the International Cinematographers Guild Scholarship Award while he was attending USC’s School of Cinematic Arts for his M.F.A.
