As protests rage on the streets of Belfast, the first female First Minister of Northern Ireland questions whether she’s the right woman to fix the flags furore. It’s up to George, her security guard, to get her back in the ring for the battles ahead.
David Anderson was awarded a skillset bursary to study at the London Film School. During this time he was very fortunate that Ken Loach agreed to be his mentor – the only time he has undertaken this role – and David spent time in the casting process and was with Ken on set for ‘The Angel’s Share’ where he worked on the film’s ‘making of’. His graduation film, ‘Saturday’, played at festivals around the world and has been bought by AMC and Shorts International. A feature-length version of this project was selected on the EU MEDIA funded ‘Low Budget film forum’ in Paris; a graduate training programme for first time feature directors. David has directed several other short films, mainly realist dramas featuring strong performances which drive an affecting story. “George and the Dragon” recently won the Best UK Short Film prize at Oxford International Film Festival. David and writer, producer and lead actress Joyce Greenaway will take part in a Q&A after the screening.
